How to get to Athens

The basic information on travelling to and around Athens can be found on the website https://www.thisisathens.org/getting-around/getting-there

Venue of the conference

All the activities of the Athens SLE meeting will be held at the Aula, School of Philosophy, University Campus, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens

 (https://en.uoa.gr/schools_and_departments/school_of_philosophy/; https://en.greekcourses.uoa.gr/) in the district of Zografou[JLM1] . The campus is located near the forest, away from the city noise, yet is easy to reach.

Social programme

There will be a welcome reception on Tuesday evening (included in the registration fee), a guided walking tour in Athens’ historical city centre (included in the registration fee) and a conference dinner and party on Thursday evening (not included in the conference fee). On Friday afternoon and on Saturday, there will be a number of activities to choose from, including excursions to the Acropolis Museum, Cape Sounion and the Temple of Poseidon, Argolis [Mycenae, Nafplio and Epidaurus], and Delphi, a Corinth Canal crossing combined with swimming and lunch, and a one-day cruise to Hydra, Poros and Aegina (these activities are not included in the registration fee).

Accommodation

Information on accommodation and a selection of hotels with special arrangements for SLE 2023 will be published later on the conference website. Transfers will also be arranged from central pickup points in close proximity to the proposed hotels to transport you to the University.
