The upcoming edition of the SLE meeting will also host a round table of experts to discuss topics of special linguistic interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-cdf21be9-73ab-4291-afa9-64af5469daff\">The deadline for all abstracts is <strong>15 January 2026<\/strong>. Hence, submitters have to be SLE members to submit an abstract. For SLE membership, please click <a href=\"https:\/\/societaslinguistica.eu\/membership\/\">here<\/a>. Abstracts submitted by non-members will not be considered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-c6845582-fe4a-45cd-a3c0-262e8e3b7d61\">Abstracts should clearly state the research questions, approach, method, data and (expected) results. They should not contain the names of the presenters, nor their affiliations or addresses, or any other information that could reveal their authorship. They should not exceed 500 words (including examples, excluding references). Abstracts should have the same title as the entry submitted via EasyChair. Some guidelines about how to write a good abstract can be found under the tab \u201cHow to write a good abstract\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-2fb01d89-923b-41af-a106-cf30b9c84042\">Presentations will last 20 minutes, allowing 5 min. for discussion, 5 min. for speaker and room changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-eaacc7f8-fc38-440b-a957-74839abe77f7\">SUBMITTING MULTIPLE PAPERS. In order to guarantee diversity, one person may be the <strong>first author<\/strong> of only <strong>one<\/strong> submission of any kind (workshop paper, general session paper, poster, or workshop proposal); nobody is allowed to present or co-present more than two papers at an SLE conference (including workshops). You can co-author more than two papers but you cannot figure among the co-presenters at the conference (i.e. if you co-author more than two papers, you will have to play a background role).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT TO A WORKSHOP. If you are submitting a workshop paper, please indicate so by selecting a &#8220;workshop paper&#8221; in the Type of paper section and then selecting the workshop of your interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-a2221838-99fc-43ad-9920-e7ce302600fa\">Presentations will last 20 minutes, allowing 5 min. for discussion, 5 min. for speaker and changes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-cb365adb-1f4f-430e-ac25-20d1b80114b1\"><strong>PRESENTING A POSTER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-d1704e31-9f5f-4f24-b3dd-51a6019dc864\">The SLE 2026 meeting will have one or two poster sessions for both senior and junior researchers. In order to foster interaction, all other sessions will be suspended during the poster session. Posters will be displayed in a gathering area and may remain available during the rest of the conference. The maximum size of the poster is usually 1.20 m (vertical) x 1 m (horizontal). For some information about how to make a good poster, <a href=\"https:\/\/ohiostate.pressbooks.pub\/scientificposterguide\/chapter\/scientific-posters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">click here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-db5d7b47-68b5-45f2-bce4-1efe9012b444\"><strong>REVIEWING PROCEDURE<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-376dca0d-6de6-4641-b32f-b1a5789b593c\">Abstracts will be reviewed anonymously by three referees. Workshop abstracts receive two evaluations by Programme Committee members and one by the workshop convenors. Abstracts submitted to the general session and to the poster session will be evaluated by three members of the Programme Committee. The threshold for acceptance is the same for general session papers, posters and workshop papers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-a7fbd735-25f4-4a39-b6a8-4198e924756a\"><strong>PRIZE FOR THE BEST PRESENTATION AND THE BEST POSTER<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-f3b2ae49-5c47-43da-be72-36a75ba32634\">At SLE conferences there are prizes for the following categories (see <a href=\"https:\/\/societaslinguistica.eu\/award-winners-at-sle2023\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Award winners 2025<\/a>):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-46661972-13f7-4edc-9ec2-e061e991563a\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>best oral presentation by a PhD student,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>best oral presentation by a postdoc, and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>best poster.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-2c81f30c-fa58-4109-9ea5-fa27c2a351c0\">Applicants can mark the option for each of the award categories in EasyChair upon abstract submission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-e3c62ca3-9006-4fb6-95ed-cffff087b8c4\"><strong>Rules<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-b662222a-ab05-4c87-80d8-4df711268028\">PhD students should not have completed their PhD before the conference. Postdocs should have completed their PhD not earlier than three years before the year of the conference (for example 2023 for the SLE 2026 conference). All posters will be eligible for the best poster prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-98084400-c0d3-455d-98f4-9ab92a5ad353\">A shortlisted paper may be co-authored. Co-authored papers in categories i) and ii) above, should be presented at the conference by the nominee, who will also have to be the first author of the paper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-8e554f91-a5e8-4f19-a81e-ffe662de9ac0\"><strong>Prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-e3df0b46-c657-4107-b488-5ee08607d013\">The first prize in each of the three categories is 500 Euros. The winners of the first prizes in the PhD and Postdoc categories are also awarded a 20+5 mins. plenary talk at SLE 2027 (Ko\u0161ice). The 2nd and 3rd prizes will receive a three-year&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.societaslinguistica.eu\/membership\/join.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">SLE membership<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-592de9c8-e713-4bfd-8ded-9300fa39db84\"><strong>IMPORTANT DATES<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-cff9c58d-df07-4602-8890-d6f6be138eba\">20 November 2025: workshop proposals submission deadline<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-04c5c836-4ff1-4c19-93ba-bae73756778a\">15 December 2025: notification of workshop acceptance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-9499afcd-66e8-4022-aa4c-b29adb853ef3\">15 January 2026: deadline for submission of all abstracts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-622f9821-2290-4b28-b68c-1234f9648249\">31 March 2026: notification of paper acceptance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-e0e2a0a5-e407-498b-bb34-8726349d0a58\">1 April 2026: early bird registration starts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-db033176-7987-4e72-b669-ca5c9e6a7a49\">1 May 2026: full fee registration starts<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-c4246f44-5557-4ec4-a807-82d56f2dfadd\">31 May 2026: closing registration date for participants with a paper<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-e9110417-0bc2-4963-a3af-606e55cb699b\">31 July 2026: closing registration date for participants without a paper, and for co-authors of papers were at least one author has already registered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-979248c7-3773-4582-bb46-6e136edfe46e\"><strong>Please note that papers for which none of the authors has registered by 31 May will not be scheduled. The schedule will be published online in June after the registration deadline. The schedule will then be modified only in the event of cancellations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-2f43f1a4-e2dc-4239-a83b-ec5a19bed959\"><strong>REGISTRATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-237bc6b7-3c98-451b-8564-cbd9614043ad\">Registration will open on 1 April 2026. SLE meetings are member-only conferences.
